Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

Is anybody listening?

Is anybody listening? Most Americans have at least heard a referrence to President Franklin Roosevelt’s “Day of Infamy” speech. It begins with the words, “Yesterday, Decemember 7,1941, a date which will live in infamy the United States was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.” December 7, 1941 was one of the darkest days of American history(it was truly a day of infamy); it was the attack on Pearl Harbor that brought the U.S. into World War II. Thousands of American men and women died in that war against tyranny.

However, December 7th was not the only day of infamy in history. There is one infamous date that you may not recall as easily as December 7,1941 or September 11, 2001; the infamous date that I’m speaking of is June 25, 1962. That was the day that the United States Supreme Court reached their decision on the Engle vs. Vitale case and removed prayer from public school. This day if I were to look back throughout American History, and choose “the day of infamy” it would not be December 7th or September 11th, or any other date, but it would be June 25th. And if I were to reword President Roosevelt’s speech it would go like this, “June 25, 1962 a date which will live in infamy the kingdom of God was suddenly and deliberately attacked by spiritual and demonic forces of the Empire of Satan.” On this day Satan using all of his powers tried to severe our communication with the King of Kings, just take a look at the effects of this. In the 1950’s there were television shows like My Three Sons, Father Knows Best and I love Lucy, but today we have TV shows like Desperate Housewives, NYPD Blue and Southpark. All of which either directly or indirectly attack the Kingdom of God and the morality of America. In the 1950’s talking and chewing gum were the major school problems today murder and rape are pretty common in some schools. Am I the only one who see’s the downward spiral we are taking.

Satan knew then that if he could interfere with our communication to God that we would eventually implode, and that’s what’s happening. God is the only one who can open our eyes to see what’s right in front of us.God hears His children when they cry out to Him, so do not allow anyone to interfere with your communication.

“And God heard the lad crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven, and said to her, ‘What is the matter with you, Hagar? Do not fear for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise lift up the lad, and hold him by the hand. For I will make a great nation out of him.’ Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went and filled the skin with water, and she gave the lad a drink.”(Genesis 21:17-19)

As Christians we tend to give and give until there’s nothing left. I agree, we should be flexible, about most things; the Bible tells us that we should be slow to anger and not quick to retaliate, but prayer(communication with the Father) is something that we need to be ready fight and die for because that is our lifeline. (Please don’t misread me. I am NOT saying that we should bomb any Government buildings.) But, without communication with God we are impotent.

Jesus said in John 15:1, “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser” and He continues in verse 5, “I am the vine, and you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing.”

Like Hagar, without the help of God we cannot even see the life giving water in front of us.

“He(Jesus) said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am’. And Simon Peter answered and said, ‘Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God’.  And Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Blessed are you Simon Barjona because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.'”(Matthew 16:15-17)

Today, right now, ask God to open your eyes to see His life giving water that is right in front of you!!!!!! Allow God to open your eyes, so that you can see fully His Son, Jesus Christ!
