Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

God’s Sonic Boom

I Thessalonians 4:16, “For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, …”

The rapture of the church is one of the most hotly debated topics in Christendom. The word “rapture” is never used in the Bible. It is a word that means “to be caught up”. According to Scripture those who have called on Jesus for salvation will be caught up with those who have died in Christ to meet Jesus in the air. There are a lot of people who are smarter than I am who have studied this subject in far greater depth. But I know what the Word says, and based on that here’s what I believe.

The Lord will signal to His angel that the time for His return has come. There will be a shout from Heaven as the angel blows his trumpet. Then the Lord will appear and the graves of the dead in Christ will open, and all Christians that are alive will be caught up and meet the saints as we meet Jesus.

I don’t know what the shout or the trumpet will sound like, but I have an idea in my mind. (This is my opinion, IT IS NOT BIBLICAL FACT!) If you have ever heard an aircraft fly overhead at supersonic speed then you will be able to relate to this. If not let me explain as best I can. When an airplane flies at supersonic speed it is flying faster than sound waves. It breaks the sound barrier. When that happens it makes a sonic boom. If you happen to be outside, the ground shakes and you might get knocked off your feet. If you are inside a house, the windows, walls, everything shakes. In either case there’s no doubt about what just happened. That’s my idea of what it will sound like. At that time there will be no doubt that the Lord has just returned. Unlike, the sonic boom created by the airplane which can only be heard for a few miles, when the Lord returns it will be heard worldwide.

The Apostle John gives us a great description of what Heaven will look like. In fact I believe that his description falls way short of the true glories of Heaven, but his vision was the best description that a human mind could come up with.

But, have you ever wondered, as I have, what will we be like in Heaven? Here’s what I think. (This is my opinion, NOT BIBLICAL FACT!)

The Bible does give us a clue when it says we will be like Him. Does that mean we will all have the body of a 33 year old Israeli man? Maybe, but I don’t think so. Here’s what I think.

God cannot allow imperfection in His presence. Therefore, we will all be transformed into “a holy and acceptable sacrifice to God”. (Romans 12:1)

We will have perfect bodies, if you know me or have read my testimony then you can guess how exciting this is to me. If not, then let me tell you I am handicapped, but when I get to Heaven I will be able to run and flip cartwheels! We’re all gonna be like Superman, “Able to leap TALL BUILDINGS in a single bound.” It’s gonna be GREAT!!!!!!!

What will be doing in Heaven? We will spend all of our time worshipping God. Will we join the other saints in singing praises to God? ABSOLUTELY! Will we stand around in white robes singing “Amazing Grace” for all eternity? PROBABLY NOT. That might get old after ten thousand years, ha-ha. (Some of you will get that tomorrow.)

I am not a father, but when I watch them I notice one thing. As they watch their children have fun, they are filled with joy. Our Heavenly Father’s joy will be greatly multiplied as He watches His children.

When we get to Heaven we will have perfect bodies and perfect worship! I CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
