“Choose for yourselves today whom you will serve…”-Joshua 24:15
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and will direct your paths.”
Trust is the hardest word in the English language. It’s only 5 letters, and it’s definition is not a complicated one(reliance: confidence in and reliance on good qualities, especially fairness, truth, honor, or ability, hope for future: hopeful reliance on what will happen in the future), but it takes a lot of faith to put the word into practice.
Yes, I said FAITH. Many people say that they trust science or they trust their eyes because that is where there FAITH lies. I choose not to trust my eyes or science, entirely, because they have both let me down at times.
The only person who has NEVER let me down or disappointed is the Lord God. He has ALWAYS been faithful to deliver His promises for my life.
Allow me a minute to share what I mean by our eyes and science letting us down. In 1988 I had a very severe car wreck, and every doctor that saw me said that I would never live more than a few days. After I survived for about a month, they changed their story to say that I would never regain consciousness and live as a “vegetable” the rest of my life
Obviously, they were wrong.
The Lord however has been faithful to give me the promises of His Words in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to give you welfare and not calamity to give you a future and a hope.”
Since those days in ’88, I have graduated high school(1989), graduated college(1997) and am now a speaker/Evangelist spreading the message of hope that comes from God through Jesus Christ.
God has always been faithful to me, in spite of what men may have said He completed His promise. Therefore, I will serve and trust Him all the days of my life.
At the present time this country is facing a crisis like it has faced only once in recent memory. The U.S. is in the grips of the second worst financial crisis of our history. In a recent interview with 60 Minutes on CBS FED Chairman Ben Bernanke had this to say about the crisis,
When I read that I see a “probably” and an ”if” that all “hinge on a difficult task”. I’ve heard words similar to that before. Let’s face it, just like the doctors that looked at me Bernanke and the other financial experts are only guessing about what might happen. I’m not trying to scare anyone, but putting your trust in people, any people, is an invitation for disappointment.
My God has proven time and time again throughout history the reliability of His word. So, I make the unequivocal statement that I will always trust Him.
What about you?
