Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

Jesus is the Word of God

Isaiah 55:11, “So shall My Word be which proceeds from My mouth. It shall not return to Me empty; without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”

This prophecy from Isaiah is a promise of God. It is a promise that what the Lord sends out, His word, will always have the desired effect that He is looking for. Can you or I make a guarantee like that. Many companies put warranties on their products to say that if it quits working in a certain period of time then you can return it and they will fix the problem, or some companies offer a money back guarantee saying that if their product doesn’t do what you thought you can return it. God does not give out warranties, and He doesn’t offer money back guarantee’s because He knows that His Product (Jesus) will never stop working, and will always do more than we ever imagined.

God says that His Word is “…living and active, and sharper than any two edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit…” God’s word is alive, and working still today; and He has promised that it will finish what He started. It will prick your heart, and convict you that His is the only way, and that Jesus is the truth if you do not harden your heart but seek Him. (The Truth) Some people have said that they have no need for religion because they have a conscience; as weird as this may sound I agree with them because I too have a conscience. Even though I have no need for man-made religion, I have a great need for a God ordained relationship. (So as not to confuse anyone let me say that I do attend church, and I believe that it is God’s command that all believers belong to a local congregation. Hebrews 10:25)

John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” God’s Word was with Him at the beginning when He created everything, and the Word was with Him when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden. John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His Glory; Glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”  Jesus Christ is the Word of God that became flesh, and He witnessed the fall of man; and knew at that moment that He would come to earth and provide a way for fallen man to get to the Father.

I Corinthians 1:18 is a favorite verse for me; it says, “For the word of the cross is to those who are perishing foolishness, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

The Word was nailed to the cross at Calvary, and it was the Word that bled and died for our sins, but it was also the Word that completed the work of God and defeated sin with His sacrifice. Praise God it was the Word that was resurrected, and now sits at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us!
