Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

One direction living

“Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his room(now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times praying and giving thanks to his God, as he had been doing previously.” Daniel 6:10

Daniel was one of the Israelites who had been taken captive when the Babylonians attacked Israel. Daniel was taken captive, and placed under the king. Daniel was unwilling to forget his God who had been so merciful to him and because of his unwillingness to abandon his Lord God gave him supremacy over many of the other officials. King Darius recognized Daniel’s potential and he put him in charge of the other officials. The other’s recognized his superiority, and were jealous of him.

That happens a lot today. When you and I follow in God’s direction for our life, many times God will reward our faithfulness by granting us with unique attributes that make others jealous.

The jealous young men then sought a way to hurt Daniel, and they figured that the easiest way to do this would be to suggest that the king make a decree concerning himself. Kings (then & now) have huge egos, so it was not hard to use that for their benefit. But, Daniel was not deterred by this declaration by the king; he went to his room, and there he got on his knees praising and thanking his God because he knew that it was the power of God that had allowed him to succeed.

The Bible says that he had his windows open toward Jerusalem. By doing this he was honoring his God by acknowledging where his gifts had come from. With you and I it’s not so much important about what direction our bodies are facing, and it’s not important what position our bodies are in. We can be standing with arms raised, or kneeling with our head bowed. We can even lie on our face before God that’s not going to impress him, or win us any kind of extra credit. But there is one thing that God will look at, and will give us special notice before God. God will always look at the intentions and the motives of our heart! Does our heart beat to glorify His Son? Do we in our prayers seek to honor, and glorify His name?

When you and I seek with all of our hearts to glorify and elevate His Son, Jesus Christ, then we will be given a special audience with the King!

Father, I thank You for the unique abilities that You have given me, and I ask that You would help me to use them in a way that honors Your Son. In Jesus’ name, Amen
