Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

“And the priests could not enter the house of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled the Lord’s house.” II Chronicles 7:2

I read this verse the other day, and the Lord opened my eyes to see His message. That’s one of the many the many things that I love about God’s word. We can read the same passage ten times, and come away with ten different applications for our life when we are sensitive to the leading of the Spirit.

Many times in our lives we get so encumbered by the things of this world that there is no room left for us to be filled with the glory of the Lord. We are constantly worried about school/work/family/friends, etc., etc. The list could go on forever about the worries we have, but all the while we are worried God is on His throne beckoning us to seek His face.(See Matthew 6:25-34) It is only when we truly turn to Him, and release our problems that we can truly be free. I’m not saying that we should ignore problems, but in the long run constant worry will rob from you the joy that God has for you. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, “Come to Me all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” God understands that we have problems and concerns in this, so He reminds us that when we give our troubles over to Him then we can find the peace that we are looking for.

Our bodies are called in I Corinthians 6:19 the “temple of the Holy Spirit,…whom we have from God”. We have the Holy Spirit from God in us when we receive the free gift of salvation. However, if we are going to allow our temple to be filled then we must rid ourselves of all the worldly, ungodly concerns that fill our hearts and minds. When we rid ourselves of ungodly things then He will fill us with His Spirit, and other people will always take notice of us when we are filled with His Spirit.

One of my favorite testimonies from the Bible is found in Acts 4 when Peter and John stood before the High Priests telling them about Jesus. The Bible says in Acts 4:13, “Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John, and understood they were uneducated and untrained men they were marveling, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.” These men had been with God, and the High Priests marveled at them because they had a way about them that could not be explained humanly.

When you and I get alone with God, and allow His Spirit to fill us then there is an undeniable difference in our lives!

Father, I thank You for sending Your Spirit to live inside of me, and I ask that You would help me to get rid of the concerns of this world, so that You can be clearly seen through Me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
