Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

Which way should I go?

“… And his head cayght fast in the oak, so that he was left hanging between heaven and earth, while the mule that was under him kept going.” II Samuel 18:9

The son of King David, Absalom, was trying to overthrow his father, and take the kingdom of Israel for himself. However, the Lord was with David, despite his faults. In a battle that Absalom waged against David he was subsequently killed when his long, flowing hair was caught in a tree, and he was ran through with a spear. That which had been the pride of Absalom(his hair) was ultimately one of the things that led to his death. The Bible states that Absalom was literally caught between heaven and earth. That is a dangerous place to be, and it will alway lead to death either Spiritual, physical or perhaps both.

Remember the words of Jodhua that he spoke in Joshua 24:15, “And if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for youselves today whom you will serve…as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” There is an old saying that goes,”A man must stand for something or he will fall for anything.” We must decide who we are going to serve whether that be ourselves or the Lord. If we try to “walk the fence” then eventually we are going to fall and get hurt.

Christ said that any kingdom divided against it’s self will fall. In other words, if we are not concretely resolved then the outcome of our uncertainty will be destruction and death. Jesus also said in Matthew 6:24, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” We see the outcome of trying to serve God and self in the story of Judas. He tried to serve God until it became clear to him that Jesus was not going to overthrow the Roman government, and then his humanly, selfish nature came out and he betrayed Jesus. The end result was that he killed himself over remorse. When you or I try to please God and ourselves then the end result will always be death.

As Joshua reminds us it is a daily choice we must make. Everyday when we get out of bed the Lord is saying to you, “…choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants.”(Deuteronomy 30:19) I pray that today, and everyday, you will choose the life that God has offered through His Son, Jesus Christ!

Father, I thank You for offering me  life everlasting through Your Son, and I ask that You woulf always help me to choose Your life over the death that this world offers. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
