CPR
John 11:25 “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life ; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is fairly simple and easy to learn. It involves giving 30 chest compressions followed by 2 rescue breaths about every 18-20 seconds. That’s pretty simple, right. Now everybody is ready to go out and rescue. Just kidding! CPR is a very serious act, and requires more than reading about it before you are qualified to give it. I am qualified, or licensed, by the American Red Cross. CPR is something I believe that ALL ADULTS should know, but pray you never have to use. Thhe CPR that I want to talk about is even more important than Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. You may be thinking, “What could be more important than saving someone’s life?” The CPR that the American Red Cross teaches will save someone’s life, temporarily. But, the CPR that I want to share with you can save someone’s life eternally.
We see CPR(Christ’s Plan for Redemption) when we look into the Bible, and read about His life, death, burial and resurrection. Jesus Christ(God in the flesh) came to this earth to show us what it truly means to live in a right relationship with God the Father. Relationships are not about formal traditions, or putting on a show to please the other person. Relationships are about intimately getting to know a person, and having a deep, personal communication. Those are some of the main ingredients to a relationship.
Jesus Christ went to the cross to pay the price for our sins, and I believe that the death of Jesus was also used by God as an object lesson. When we see Jesus on the cross then we should get on our knees, and praise God because that should have been us on the cross at Calvary.
Jesus was buried, and He rose again to show us what will happen to us, when we crucify ourself to Him. It is painful to feel yourself die, and it hurts when you let go of things you love; but even though it hurts the end result will always be infinitely greater than you can imagine. There’s an old saying that goes “No pain, no gain.” Yes, there might be a lot of pain in dying to yourself, but what you will gain out of that pain is immeasurable.
Today, as you go throughout your day you may not be qualified to give CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) to an accident victim, but if you are a Christian you are qualified to share CPR (Christ’s Plan for Redemption) with every person you see.
