It’s NOT just an average day!
Genesis 1:3 “Then God said, “Let there be light “; and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good ; and God separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.”
Have you ever considered your day? I mean do you ever think about all the things that have to happen for you to have an “average, normal, unexciting and uneventful day.” Life can seem boring to us at times; as we see one day running into the next and next and so on. We easily get stuck in a rut, and we think that life is a drag. We sometimes feel like we are missing all the fun and excitement.
If you think today is just an average, boring day with no excitement going on; just consider your body. There are thousands of procedures going on in your body from the time you wake up until the time you go to sleep. Even after you go to sleep the functioning in your body does not stop. Just consider the human heart, let’s take a look at what an average heart does over an average lifetime.
The average lifetime total heartbeats is based on an average of 72 beats per minute during an average lifespan of 75 years. 72 beats per minute x 60 = 4,320 beats per hour. 4,320 beats per hour x 24 = 103,680 beats per day. 103,680 beats per day x 365 = 37,843,200 beats per year. 37,843,200 beats per year x 75 = 2,838,240,000 beats in an average lifetime.*
Does that sound boring to you? Our so called “average days” are anything but average. There is excitement, happines, fulfillment in every day, and it was all set in motion because God loves you and me. God created this world of excitement that we live in because He loves us. And, if the magnificicient world that God created were not enough to prove His love for us God sent His, Jesus Christ, to die for us.
Romans 5 says, “6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will hardly die for a righteous man ; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.”
God, the same God that created the world, and causes my heart to beat abot 2.5 Billion times in my life loves us so much that He purposefully, with meaning, sent His Son to die for each of us. That’s not a promise that we we just had yesterday, or will have tomorrow; but it’s a promise that we have each and everyday. As you go throughout your day, today, tomorrow, and for the rest of your life think about your body and it’s functioning; but more importantly think about what God proved to us with His Son, and you will quickly realize there are no AVERAGE days when God’s involved!
