Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

God wants you…

Galations 2:19, “For through the Law I died to the Law, so that I might live to God. 20 “I have been crucified with Christ ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. 21 “I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.”

Many of us grow up in the church hearing the stories and singing the songs that proclaim God’s love. “Jesus loves the little children, All the children of the world…” And we constantly hear John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” God loves so much more than we could ever understand. God killed His own Son, so that we could live with Him forever.  Romans 5:8 says, But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

God loves you and me so much that He sent His Son to die a horrific criminals death for us. It was the kind of death that is reserved for the truly terrible. Only those people who have absolutely nothing to offer society, and are totally beyond redemption those are the kinds of people that suffer like Jesus did. This is how much God loves you, but I want to say something else…

God loves you, but God does like you. In fact God wishes that you were dead. I’m sorry if that sounds harsh, but it’s true. It comes straight from the Word of God. He wants us dead so that He can live in us and through us. He wants us dead because He knows that we, as living beings, have a strong inclination to object to His authority over our lives. Read the Bible(any Book,Chapter or Page), and you will read stories about how people perverted the commands of God; so that they could do their own thing.  We cannot, and do not please God in our bodies. Don’t misunderstand me, He loves you as you, but as I said before He does not like you.

We will never be truly happy until we are like Him, and the only way for us to be like Him is to die to ourselves. Only when we die can we please Him, and we will find true, eternal joy. The joy that we find in Him is much greater than any happiness we could get on our own.

John 15:1, “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away ; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. 3 “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches ; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing . 6 “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. 7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 “My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. 9 “Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. 10 “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love ; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. 11 “These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.

Today, I hope you will die to yourself, so that you can once and forever live through Him!

Father, I thank You for giving Your life for me, and I ask that you remind me that I must die to myself to find happiness and joy in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
