Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

Are you unusual?

Genesis 30:28, He added, “Name your wages, and I will pay them.”

Jacob had come to Laban in search of a wife, and he had found his soulmate in Rachel. He worked for seven years in Laban’s fields, and among his hired-hands to get Rachel as his wife, but he was tricked by Laban. He had to work an additional seven years to get what he had been promised in the beginning. Most people, including me, would be mad at this turn of events. Jacob, however, just “went with it” he served Laban because he truly, with all his heart loved Rachel!

After Jacob had served Laban for years he was rady to leave, but Laban had noticed that he had blessed because the Lord had been with Jacob. His cattle had increased; his farm was producing more, and he realized that this all was a product of Jacob’s faithfulness to God.For this reason he offered to pay Jacob anything he wanted. He gave him a blank check.

As I have said many times before, God does NOT promise us material blessings for following Him. On the flipside of that is the fact that if you willfully obey God and purposely follow Him to the best of your ability then the outcome will be a shower of blessings.  Malachi 3:10 ,”Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows The blessings of God may come in physical form, as they did with Jacob, or the may come in spiritual; or emotional form or what have you. God has infininte numbers of ways to bless those who follow Him.

If you decide to “take up your cross, and follow Him” then there are two certainties in your life. Number one is that you WILL be blessed by God, and number two is that other people will notice that you have been blessed by God. Acts 4:13, “Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.”(emphasis mine)

Father, I thank You for the blessings that You give me as I follow You, and I ask that You help me use these blessings in a way that glorifies You. In Jesus’ name, Amen
