Come feast with Him
Genesis 43:34, “He took portions to them from his own table, but Benjamin’s portion was five times as much as any of theirs. So they feasted and drank freely with him.”
In my opinion there is no better paralel in Scripture of the Gospel story than that of Joseph. Joseph, his father Jacob’s favorite, was sold into slavery by his brother’s. He arose from slavery to become Potipar’s “right hand man”. Potiphar was the captain of Pharaoh’s bodyguards, a very important person, but because of false accusations made against him by Potiphar’s wife Joseph was thrown into prison where he helped the chief jailer, and the other prisoner’s. He interpreted a dream for the chief cupbearer of Pharaoh who had also been thrown into prison, and after the cupbeare was restored to his position he remembered Joseph when Pharaoh had a dream that no one could interpret. Joseph interpreted the dream for Pharaoh, and he was released from prison to work on Pharaoh’s “staff”. Just as with Potiphar Joseph’s hardwork and excellence soon propelled him to become Pharaoh’s “right hand man”. We can learn from this that our devotion to God results in our efforts to work hard to please Him, and as we strive to please Him we will undoubtedly be noticed by others. That’s not to say that we will always be reward by others because of our driven nature, but others will always notice a “specialness” about us when we follow the commands of Jesus. Take into account the story of Peter and John in Acts 4. As they are brought before the Sanhedrin because of their commitment to spread the Gospel, Acts 4:13 says “Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.” Devotion to God will ALWAYS bring you to the attention of others. It may not bring you riches and treasure on this earth like it did Joseph, but you will be noticed by others.
Skip ahead in the story of Joseph, and we see that his brothers came to him during a time of famine to buy food. It was during this time that Joseph brought his brothers into a feast that he had prepared for them. Out of his abundance, Joseph, brought in his brothers to himself, and fed them. I see in this a beautiful illustration of what Jesus is going to do for us! The Bible says that we are “joint heirs” with Christ, and because we are , as Christians, brothers with Christ He has prepared a marvelous feast for us to enjoy in Heaven. Things may not always seem good during our time on earth. We may go through hard times, and famines like Joseph’s brothers, but one day we will join Chhrist at the banquet table, and we will feast on the fullness of His riches.

Father, I thank You for preparing a feast for me, and I ask that You remind me during the hard times what a glorious future You have prepared for me and all who serve You. That one day, and for all eternity we will be served by You! In Jesus’ name, Amen
