Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

There is no immediate danger…Maybe

Matthew 24: 36,  “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. 37 “For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. 38 “For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away ; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.”

I have been following the crisis in Japan on the TV and the internet. Honestly there are so many crises going on in the world right now that it can be difficult to keep up to date on them, unless you’re in the middle of one. That is why I am so glad that my Lord can still the waters in a troubled sea, and He can calm my heart during troubled times.

I have noticed over the last week and a half as I’ve watched the events in Japan unfold the experts would say “there is no immediate danger”. How do they know that? There is no way that they can know for sure what the effects of the radiation leakage will be. It’s not like someone volunteered to be injected with radiation to test their theories. I don’t mean to alarm anyone, but these scientists are merely making an educated guess. I hope and I pray that they are right, and I ask that you would also pray for the people in Japan!

There is no immediate danger…Maybe! However, there is an immenent danger for anyone that has not called on the Lord Jesus Christ! I do not want to sound like a lot of people before me who claimed to know when Christ will return. I DON’T KNOW!!!When I read the words of Christ-Matthew 24: 36,  “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone” I am comforted in two ways. Number one is that I am not having some big secret withheld from me that is only told to super-religous folks, Jesus Christ didn’t even know the day of His return, so I am comforted by that. The second comfort that I find in these words is an unspoken but obvious one.

We should not concern ourselves too much about when He will come back; we should just find comfort in knowing that He will come back. As we are waiting for Him to come back we, as Christians, have a mission to complete. We have been charged with the mission of spreading the Gospel. Just like when Jesus came to this earth I believe He knew from the start that the cross awaited Him, but He was on a mission from God, and His future did not interfere with His fulfilling that mission.

I can not say as to whether or not Christ will return today, tomorrow, or a hundred years. Sometimes I think that would be nice to know, but then I remember that I was called to point as many people to Him as I can in the time that I have. I’ll trust God to take care of the details!

Father, I thank You for assuring me that You are in control no matter how bad things get, and I ask that You would empower me to finish my mission for You; and leave the rest to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen
