Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

Stay Strong

Exodus 1:21, ” Because the midwives feared God, He established households for them.”

After the death of Joseph, the Israelites were increasing at breakneck speed in Egypt. A king had come to power who did not know Joseph or the story of his family. He was concerned that his people were about to be over run by the Israelites, and he had to ensure that this did not happen. He ordered the Hebrew midwives to kill all the male children that were born. Hoping to slow down the growth of the Hebrew nation and thereby eliminating the threat to him and his kingdom.

However, the Hebrew midwives  were not willing to follow his command because of their fear and reverence for God and His laws. They were in essence risking their lives to save the lives of these unborn children. Today, in the face of abortion and all other unGodly acts that threaten the lives of the unborn we need some Godly people that are willing to step up and say no I won’t kill an unborn baby no matter what the consequences.( I’m not advocating illegal activity, like bombing abortion clinics, but the practice of abortion MUST be stopped!)

These Hebrew midwives were blessed by God because they refused to obey the king, but their devotion to God was so strong that they were willing to risk their lives for Him. Their story reminds me of all the men and women over the centuries who have risked their life, and even died for their devotion to God. They were, and you will be, rewarded by God because of their devotion. The rewards may or may not come while you are on this earth, but God will not forsake those who love Him.

Let me end this with one of my favorite quotes. Dr. David Livingstone, “One can hardly call it a sacrifice that which is repaying a small portion of a great debt that never can be repaid.” God has given us so much more than we deserve; obeying His commands can never be considered anything but our just offering in return for all He has done for us!
