Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

Cry loudly…

Exodus 2:24-25 “So God heard their groaning ; and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, God saw the sons of Israel, and God took notice of them.”

The children of Israel had been in captivity for many, many years; most experts agree that it was around 400 years. During this time they were subject to the Egyptian people; whatever they were told to do they had to do it or risk death. Even though they were in the Egyptian chains for several generations God never gave up on them. A lot of times we face situations, problems, that go on for years, and we feel like God has abandoned us. We watch a loved one slowly deteroriate with cancer; we fall victim to the effects of a bad choice we made, or we suffer a job loss and are unemployed for years, during these times we wonder where God is. I take comfort in knowing that He is exactly where He was when His Son was nailed to the Roman cross, and He cried out, “My God, My God-Why have you forsaken Me?”

Even though we feel abandoned at times, like no one cares, and we’re all alone in this world God never leaves. God will always rescue us from danger! However, it’s not always in our time frame. God rescues us when His timing is right.

I think about the time frame between the last book of the Old Testament and the first words of the New Testament. (Which is also thought to be about 400 years.) During that time the Jewish(Israelite) people probably felt abandoned by God. Which I believe is one reason that they rejected Jesus Christ. When Jesus, the Messiah that they had been waiting on finnaly came the Jews were settled into their routine, and even though they did not like their situation it was what they were used too. In a way they were comfortable with it because in the words of an old commercial; they thought, “It doesn’t get any better than this.” But, when God hearss our cries for help just like He heard the Israelites in Egypt and the Jews in Israel things get much better than we could ever imagine.

I would like to add a disclaimer. Like the Israelites found out before Moses came; God does not work according to our timing. He keeps His own record , and while our time table may be 100 years long His is infinite. So, when you feel like you are facing the same troubles day after day and you feel like God has forgotten about you then you must remember that He will rescue you in His right time.
