People of God
Exodus 12:50, “Then all the sons of Israel did so; they did just as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron.”
The children of Israel had listened to Moses and Aaron tell them the Words of God, and had seen with their eyes or heard of the destruction that the Lord had sent on Pharaoh which was told would come by Moses. They understood that Moses was a man of God. He was a man that God chose to use; Moses was no better than they were, but God was with him.
Men of God usually get observed in two ways they are either put on a pedastal and thought of as Holy, or they are looked down upon and thought to be weird. Men of God(pastor’s, preacher’s, priest’s) whatever you may call them are just men. Yes, they should be respected for their decision to follow God in what can be a very rewarding but challenging calling; but we should never see them as better people or more deserving than we are; they are sinners saved by grace just as we are. The Apostle Paul said in Romans 3:23, “that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God“. Pastor’s and Priest’s are included in all men; they are not “holier than thou people”, and do not deserve the worship that belongs to God alone.
Some people then look at men of God as if they are freaks or weirdo’s. They don’t understand how someone can claim to be called by God for a lifetime of service. Most people think that making bundles of money is what humans should do, and working for God is definitely not going to do that so these people must be nuts.
Men(and women) of God have a special calling on their lives, and while they are holy and set apart for use by God they are not extraordinary people. They are ordinary people that have heard and answered a calling from the extraordinary God. They should not be put on a pedastal nor should they be thought of as weird, but they should be homored and respected as servants of an Almighty God!

Father, I thank You for men and women who have answered Your calling on their lives, and I ask that You would encourage my heart to follow them as they follow You. In Jesus’ name, Amen
