Follow Him
Exodus 13:21, “The LORD was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night. 22 He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.”
The children of Israel were on the march! God had delivered them from slavery in Egypt, and now they were headed to His Promised Land. While they knew where they were going they did not know how to get there. So, God in His mercy went before them to lead them in the right direction.
In our world today there are many voices crying out “Follow me, and I will show you the way.” We see on television that many people claim to know the truth of what we want and need. We listen to people screaming on the streetcorners, but there is only One who will do more than show us the way into the Promised Land; Jesus Christ said that He is Way to go, and no one can get to Heaven any other way. Jesus said in John 14:6…, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life ; no one comes to the Father but through Me. ” He has delivered us out of our slavery to sin by His sacrifice, and He will lead us into the Promised Land.
Mamy people today are asking, “How can I know that Jesus is really the way?” Jesus knew that some people would seek a sign, and He said in Matthew 12:39-40, “…no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet ; for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”
We have the signs, and we know that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. We only need to follow Him, and He will lead us to the Promised Land that we want!

Father, I thank You for showing me that Jesus is the way, and I ask that You would help me to lead all that are searching to Your comfort. For You are the only Way that we need to go. In Jesus’ name, Amen
