Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

Amazed by God

Exodus 28:36, “You shall also make a plate of pure gold and shall engrave on it, like the engravings of a seal, ‘Holy to the LORD.’ 37 “You shall fasten it on a blue cord, and it shall be on the turban ; it shall be at the front of the turban. 38 “It shall be on Aaron’s forehead, and Aaron shall take away the iniquity of the holy things which the sons of Israel consecrate, with regard to all their holy gifts ; and it shall always be on his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD. “

I’ll be honest; when I went to bed last night I had no idea what my morning devotion was going to be about. When I woke up this morning I still did not have a clue, so I ate my Cheerios and drank my coffee; then I opened my Bible and started reading. I had no idea what was going on; the only thing I knew is that God wanted me to stay in the Old Testament.(If you’ve been reading much lately then you realize that I have been writing mainly using Old Testament stories to highlight God’s glory.) I get the idea (right or wrong) that many times we as Christians look past the Old Testament to the New simply because Jesus Christ is not in the Old. (Don’t misread me I AM NOT SAYING THAT WE CAN BE SAVED BY ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE BLOOD OF JESUS!!! JESUS IS LORD, AND SALVATION IS FOUND IN HIM AND IN HIM ALONE!!!)

With that being said the verse that I chose(God chose) for this morning just jumped out of the Bible and said, “Here I am! Write about me.” Sometimes what we might think of as the most boring, insignificant parts of the Bible just scream to us about God’s grace, if we would only listen. Take today, Exodus 28:36-38, this is God instructing Moses on how Aaron(the high priest) should dress when he comes to minister before God. YAWN! I agree with you this does seem like a boring, insignificant piece of scripture until you look at it context with what Jesus(THE HIGH PRIEST) did for us.

God instructed Moses that when Aaron came before God in the Holy of holies to minister before the Lord that he should wear a sign on his turban, “Holy to the Lord”. That is a very interesting requirement for the High Priest especially when you look at how THE HIGH PRIEST ministered, and sacrificed Himself for all of us.

Matthew 27:37 says, “And above His head they put up the charge against Him which read, “THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

Without realizing what they were doing the men who crucified Jesus were acknowledging that He was KING, and more than that they were saying HE IS THE HIGH PRIEST THAT TAKES AWAY THE SIN FROM US!!!

I invite you to read those boring, insignificant parts of the Bible, but when you read them ask, “How is God’s glory shining through this?” When you look through Kingdom eyes you will understand God’s grace better, and you will be drawn a little closer to Him.

II Timothy 3:16 says, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness ; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”

The Word of God was given to inspire us, educate us and help us stay on His path; so that we can show others the Truth of Jesus!!!
