Faith is God’s rest
Exodus 33:14, And He said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Just prior to this verse Moses had asked God to show him His ways that he might know God. Many times we get like Moses we beg God to show us His ways so that we can come into a better understanding of who God is. We forget that even if God were to choose to show us His ways, and His plans that we still could grasp the infinite mind of God, nor coyuld we grow into a closer relationship with Him.
Isiaih 55:8 says, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts. ” The Lord knows that even if He were to show us all of His ways, and proclaim His Truths from heaven with a megaphone that we could not understand; so the answer that we are really searching for cannot be found in knowing His mind, but in trusting His heart!
We do not need to know more about God, but we need trust God more.(Let me stop and say that I am all for knowing, reading and studying God’s Word; but that alone will not bring you closer to God.) James 2:19 says, “19 You believe that God is one. You do well ; the demons also believe, and shudder. “
The demons believe in God, and Satan knows the Word better than we ever will, but that does not make him close to God; nor does it improve their relationship. If you and I truly desire a better relationship with Him then the answer is found only in faith.We must not depend on our knowledge about God, but we must desire a better relationship with God through faith. As our faith relationship with God grows then we will see more clearly that He is with us at all times!
