Enough is enough!
Exodus 36:6, “Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: “No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.” And so the people were restrained from bringing more, 7 because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work.”
Have you ever gone to church all excited about being there, and then read the bulletin about the sermon and notice that it’s going to be about giving. Your heart may sink as your conscious gets a hold off you saying, “You know you haven’t been giving to the Lord what He asked!” You may feel like coming down with a bad case of sneezing or coughing because you don’t want to listen to the preacher talk about giving. You may even think in the back of your mind while you listen to the preacher, “If I give you my money then how do I know you’re not going to misuse it?” We were not called to question the preacher about how the offerings we bring are dispersed. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t check every now and then to account for the money, but in the end if the preacher is misusing thee money/offering we bring then he will be accountable before God! The Loed has commanded you and I to bring our offerings and tithes to Him. Malachi 3:8, “Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How do we rob you?’ “In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse–the whole nation of you–because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” This is the only place in Scripture where we are told to put God to the test!
God wants to prove to us that we cannot outgive Him. God has already proven that we cannot outgive Him by giving us His Son, Jesus Christ!
Sometimes we all get tired of hearing the preacher ask for contributions, but if we would bring the offerings that are required of us then the preaacher could stop asking, and he could talk like Moses and tell us, “Enough is enough!” And we would see the mighty movement of God as He worked wonders among us.
