Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

Leviticus 7:20, “But the person who eats the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings which belong to the LORD, in his uncleanness, that person shall be cut off from his people.”

For 400 years the Israelites were held captive in Egypt. They had assimilated themselves, and mixed in so well that it was difficult to tell between the Israelites and Egyptians. After God had delivered them out of the hands of the Egyptians things did not go easy for the Israelites, so they desired in their hearts to go back to Egypt where they would have the things they wanted. They remembered living in Egypt where most had mixed in with the culture, and they had an easy life.

Sometimes, I believe we too fall into the trap of desiring the easy life, and not looking for how we can improve on the easy life and get the abundant life that God promises. One of my favorite passages of scripture is found in John chapter 10. John 10:10,”The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy ; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” Jesus Christ did not come to give us the easy life! Jesus came so that we might have life abundantly!

However, it is up to you and me to find that abundant life in Him, and we must prepare ourselves to receive the abundant life that He brings. You may have heard it said that God will not live in a dirty house.

Many Christians today are like the Israelites in the desert. They are searching for the Promised Land, but they are still holding fast to the land of sin, and God will never bring you into the fulness of His glory until we let go of the life we were living.

God tells us, through the Apostle Paul, that we are to live Godly lives! Ephesians 4:1, “Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called” If you are searching for the abundant life that is promised by God then you must first make yourself clean before Him. I want to end by saying that the abundant life is not always easy, but is always better than settling. The abundant life is filled with high’s and low’s whereas the easy life may not have as many lows but it also does not have any highs.

Father, I thank You for promising me the abundant life when I come to You; my time with You may not be the easiest or most comfortable, but I know it will always bring me the most peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen
