Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

Holy, Holy, Holy

Leviticus 10:3, ‘Then Moses said to Aaron, “It is what the LORD spoke, saying, ‘By those who come near Me I will be treated as holy, And before all the people I will be honored.’ ” So Aaron, therefore, kept silent.’

Right after Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, presented an offering to God that He had not commanded, but was profane to Him; and did not honor His holiness before Israel they were consumed with fire by God. Thank heavens this was the Old Testament wrathful God, and not the loving God of the New Testament. If the God of the New Testament required you and I to treat Him as holy before people as the God of the Old Testament then we would all be in trouble.

Well, guess what? The God of the New Testament is the same God as the Old Testament, and He demands to be treated just as Holy. The New Testament God that we serve is just as serious about being treated as Holy as the OT God who consumed Nadab and Abihu. Acts 5:1, “But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, 2 and kept back some of the price for himself, with his wife’s full knowledge, and bringing a portion of it, he laid it at the apostles’ feet. 3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the price of the land ? 4 “While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control ? Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart ? You have not lied to men but to God.” 5 And as he heard these words, Ananias fell down and breathed his last ; and great fear came over all who heard of it. 6 The young men got up and covered him up, and after carrying him out, they buried him. 7Now there elapsed an interval of about three hours, and his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. 8 And Peter responded to her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for such and such a price ?” And she said, “Yes, that was the price.” 9Then Peter said to her, “Why is it that you have agreed together to put the Spirit of the Lord to the test ? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out as well.” 10 And immediately she fell at his feet and breathed her last, and the young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband. 11 And great fear came over the whole church, and over all who heard of these things.”

If we treat God as less than Holy then we are making Him a mockery before others. We are saying, with actions or words, that God is a joke not to be taken seriously. Galations 6:7 says, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked ; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.”

We can choose to live a life that makes fun of, and humiliates God; or we can choose to live a life that honors God. If we choose to honor, and treat God as holy then we will be honored by Him, but if you choose to dishonor God, treat His Name as worthless then you are in danger of being consumed by the fire of God. Just like Nadab and Abihu the choice is yours to make!
