Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

He is Worthy

Numbers 4:19, “But do this to them that they may live and not die when they approach the most holy objects: Aaron and his sons shall go in and assign each of them to his work and to his load ; 20 but they shall not go in to see the holy objects even for a moment, or they will die.”

God had previously commanded Moses that Aaron and his sons were to be the high priests, and that whenever the camp of Israel set out that they should go into the sanctuary and cover the Holy objects to be carried along with them. After they were covered by the high priests then they could be approached, and carried by the people whom God had chosen. However, if the ones that God had chosen approached or saw the holy objects before they were covered then they would die!

God is holy, and people who are not worthy cannot approach Him without the certainty that His wrath will be poured out.We always hear about the love of God, and His love for people is infinite; but we hear very little about the wrath of God. I’m not trying to sound woeful or scary, but the wrath of God is very real. It is just as certain as the infinite love of God!

John 3:16 which tells us about the infinite love of God may be the most well known verse in the Bible, but just a few verses later we read in John 3:18, “He who believes in Him is not judged ; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” The wrath and judgement of God are just as real as the love of God, and when we approach God in an unworthy manner then that wrath will fall on us just as it did the Israelites.

We read in I Corinthians 11:27, “Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. 28 But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly.” A warning given by God that when we approach His throne, and His holy objects that we must do so in a manner that is worthy; or we too will face the wrath of God.

Romans 6:23 reminds us that we deserve death, but because of the grace of God, through Jesus Christ, we are given eternal life and considered worthy to come into His presence!

Father, I thank You for making me worthy, through the blood of Jesus, to approach You, and I ask that You remind me that worthiness cannot be gained except through Your High Priest. In Jesus’ name, Amen
