Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

Deliverance

Numbers 11:23, “The LORD said to Moses, ‘Is the LORD’S power limited ? Now you shall see whether My word will come true for you or not.’ ”

The Israelites had left Egypt at the command of God. They were run down by Pharaoh’s army, and were cornered against the Red Sea; but in a last minute save the Lord opened the Red Sea, and they crossed free from harm.

After that miraculous save by God they bickered against Moses because they did not have any food to eat; once again God stepped in and He provided manna for them to eat. They didn’t have to do anything to get the food God provided. The only thing required was to get out of bed and pick the food up off the ground. Am I the only one who sees a pattern?

Well, here we are one more time. The Israelites were once again bickering because all they had to eat was manna. They bickered against God, to Moses, that they had no variety. Basically they were saying we’re about to die of boredom. They ate the same food, and basically did the same thing everyday. As human beings we can understand why they were complaining because nobody likes to do the same thing day after day after day.

They said at least when they were in Egypt they had a variety of foods to choose from, and they left out the fact that they were slaves under total control of the Egyptians. Many times we get like that when we are facing a difficult task. We look back at a time gone by when everything seemed perfect, and we want to go back there; but when we look back we usually do so with tunnel vision. We focus on the good things so much that we can’t see the bad stuff.

I used to do that, to be honest I’m still guilty, when I first became a Christian, about 4 years after my car wreck, I used to look back at my life before the wreck; and long to go back to that time before my wheelchair and a cane; a time when both of my arms worked. It was a great time I used to think, but I was looking with tunnel vision. I neglected to see that I was also a slave; I was held captive by my own fleshly lusts and desires. I always tried to re-invent myself everyday for other people who really did not have my interests at heart.

Yes, our time before the deliverance of God can seem great to us when we look through tunnel vision, but when we open our eyes fully then we see the deliverance of God is the only thing that can set us free in any situation, and we are no longer slaves to the unimportant things of this world!

Father, I thank You for setting me from the bondage of Satan, and I ask that You remind me of Your Word that who the Son sets free is free indeed. In Jesus’ name, Amen
