Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

No honor among thieves

Numbers 24:11, “Therefore, flee to your place now. I said I would honor you greatly, but behold, the LORD has held you back from honor.”

King Balak of Moab had called the Prophet Balaam to curse Israel because Balak had heard what they had done to other nations since being delivered from Egypt. However, Balaam told the men who came to get him that he could say nothing except what God instructed.

Balak was looking to hear the right words; the words that would make his heart be calm, but Balaam, the Prophet of God, did not offer any words that would make him feel better because he was standing in opposition to the will of God. A lot of times we get like that; we know deep in our heart that we are living in opposition to the will of God, but we still expect to hear a comforting word from God that will make us feel better. God is not, and will not give you comfort while you blatantly disobey Him.

Balak was looking to hear the words that pleased him, and after he recieved the words that he wanted he would then honor Balaam. Many times people want to hear soothing words even if they are not truthful words. That’s what Balak was after, and when he didn’t hear them he got upset and refused to honor Balaam.

But, that is where we fall short a lot of the time. People seek to be honored by men, so much so that they will say or do almost anything. While the truth is honor that comes from men without the blessings that come from God is hollow. Man cannot honor other men with any lasting praise. However, God can, and will bring lasting honor and blessings to everyone that remains faithful to His Word!
