Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

The First Feminists

Numbers 27:7, “The daughters of Zelophehad are right in their statements. You shall surely give them a hereditary possession among their father’s brothers, and you shall transfer the inheritance of their father to them.”

As people these women understood that something was not right. They considered themselves just as important as the men of Israel, and they refused to settle for less than they deserved. Ancient society and in some ways still today men are considered to be of more value than women. (As a man that’s hard to admit.) These women admitted the difference, but they refused to accept unfair treatment. They came to Moses, and said just because we are women that doesn’t mean that what is rightfully ours should be given to someone else. Moses took their case before God, and in what must have been a shocking precedent God said they’re right. It must have really been a surprise in a totally male dominated culture, but God said He was not going to have any preferential treatment among His children.

It may be hard for us to imagine, but God still says that there will be no preferential treatment in His Kingdom. There is one law and one way. In John chapter 14 the disciples were comforted by Jesus when He said, “1 Do not let your heart be troubled ; believe in God, believe also in Me.2″In My Father’s house are many dwelling places ; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.3″If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.4″And you know the way where I am going.”5Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way ?” 6Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life ; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

There is only one way that we can get an inheritance in the Promised Land, and that is through our acceptance of the Grace given by God. Our gender cannot earn our way; neither can race, birth order, heritage or anything other than the Grace given by God through Jesus Christ!

A lot of people in the world today believe that they are entitled to God’s Grace, but only His children will recieve His full Grace!
