Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

Fulfilling the vow

Numbers 30:15, “But if he indeed annuls them after he has heard them, then he shall bear her guilt.”

God in his orders to Moses commands that he tell the Israelites that any vow which is made by an unmarried woman who later gets married brings the vow with her into the marriage, but when her new husband hears about the vow he can cancel the promise that she made. Some people might say that sounds unfair, and I agree; it does sound unfair to women. But, I want to look at it another way for a minute. I would like to look at it from the viewpoint of the Cross. As I have said before the Old Testament takes on a whole new meaning when viewed through the lens of Christ.
As human beings we come into this world bound to sin! Our parents made a promise to sin, and their parents and their parents, etc. All the way back to Adam their was a vow made between man and Satan. Way back in the garden when sin entered the world Eve made a vow with Satan, and when Adam, her husband, found out about that vow instead of annuling it he confirmed, and joined himself to the sin. In his natural earthly state man is bound to sin!
God knew that we had made a vow with Satan to live a life separated from Himself, and living closely to sin. God also knew that their was only one way to annul this vow. We must become married to the Sin Breaker, and let Him annul the vow for His bride.
Thw New Testament refers to the church as the bride of Christ. As our husband Christ has done on the cross what Adam failed to do for his bride, and the vow that was made between sin and man has been canceled.
Sin no longer reigns over man be cause Christ has come to annul the vow that was made long ago in the garden!
