Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

Enter into God’s rest

Numbers 32:5, “They said, ‘If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants as a possession ; do not take us across the Jordan.’ ”

The Israelites had followed Moses for Forty years; now they were almost their they could just about smell the sweet land they were waiting for. All of a sudden some of them decided that they had gone far enough; the land that they land that they were in was suitable for their needs. They did not understand how God’s Promised Land could get any better.
Before we judge them too harshly let’s look at their situation. hey had been following a man who claimed to be God’s representative, and he kept telling them on a, “Just a little farther.” As a person don’t you think that you would start getting tired after a while of putting forth much effort with little to show for it.
That’s the situation that the people were in; they had been hearing over and over the promises given by Moses, but promises about the future mean very little when put up against dissapointments of the present. So, the half tribe of Manasseh settled for what their eyes saw and they could touch rather than what God promised.
Today, we still have the idea that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. We assume that what we see and feel is as good as it gets. We say we believe in God, but often times we settle for the good things of this world rather than waiting on the GREAT THINGS OF GOD!
Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Faith is what God wants! Verse 6 of Hebrews 11 tells us that without faith it is imposible to please God. Jesus said in Matthew 17:20, “…if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move ; and nothing will be impossible to you.” Faith is what makes everything possible.
But, for someone who is hurting faith can seem like a little more than a pipe dream. I know I’ve been there, but God has given us the assurance that our faith in Him is not meaningless. He proved the validity of faith in Him by the death of Jesus Christ. John 14:6 says, “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life ; no one comes to the Father but through Me.’ “ On the cross of Calvary Jesus proved the validity of our faith in Him to take us to the Promised Land, and without faith then we too will be left on the far side of the river.
