Fear Not!
Deuteronomy 33:29, “Blessed are you, O Israel ; Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD, Who is the shield of your help And the sword of your majesty ! So your enemies will cringe before you, And you will tread upon their high places.”
Possibly just hours before his death Moses called together the tribes of Israel, and he reassured them that God was going to be with them as they enterd into the Promised Land. They were undoubtedly scared because they knew Moses would not be with them as they entered into the next phase that God called them too.
Many times when we begin a new chapter in life we are scared, even though we may be certain this is what God has called us to. Yesterday, I was watching a video by Steven Curtis Chapman where he talked about his song “Dive”. He talks about where he got the idea for that song: Dive Sometimes we are frightened by the things that God calls us to, but God will always be with us especially when the water gets rough, and we think that we can’t go any farther!
The blessing given by Moses to the Israelites reminds me of the Great Commission that Jesus gave the disciples before He left the earth.
In Matthew 28:18_20 Jesus said, “18… “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always , even to the end of the age.”
God has commanded us to go, even when we are scared, but He promised that He would be with us!!!
