Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

What now?

Joshua 1:2,”Moses My servant is dead ; now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.”

I can’t even begin to imagine what the Israelites were thinking. Almost everything had just disappeared from in front of them. I have said this before, but it’s worth saying again; Moses was in effect God to them everything he said was like gold in their ears. Moses, and he alone, had been spreading the words of God to the Israelites. Now, on the dawn of their new life he died. It was total chaos!

The Israelites mourned for the proper amount of time, and then God spoke up. He said, I’m still here, and all the promises I made to Moses are still in effect. I am going to give you this land, and I am going to prosper you. Just keep your eyes on Me, and you will be blessed beyond measure. They were commanded by God to follow His Words, and if they did then success would be with them no matter who was in charge!

I believe the Israelites were faced with a similar situation to the disciples of Christ. The disciples had followed Jesus for years, and they had seen Him perform many miracles, but just as they imagined their new life was about to begin Jesus was crucified, and their hopes were shattered. We know that they thought everything they had dreamed of was over because they immediately went back to doing what they had done before. I’m sure they thought everything was going back to normal, and they would still be fishermen subject to Roman rule. But, God came back into the picture; and changed their lives forever!

They finally realized that even though Jesus was not with them in the flesh that God was with them always, and they could do all that He had said if they would follow His commands. Just before His departure from this Earth jesus comforted His disciples(and us) with these words, Matthew 28:18 “And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.19″Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always , even to the end of the age.” Jesus reminded them that He had ALL authority, and He told them in Acts that all of His authority would be given to them by the Holy Spirit! Acts 1:8, “but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

As followers of Christ we have been endowed with the power of God; power over death and every demonic spirit. Whatever problems you may be facing, through the Power of Christ you have the ability to defeat it! We are reminded in Romans 8:37, “But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Nothing can take away the eternal security we have in Him!
