Heaven in the real world
Todays write-up is going to be different from most. You can probably already tell that since there is no Scripture reference to open with; I just felt as if I should talk/type about an event I recently went to.
Last week I saw Steven Curtis Chapman, the contemporary Christian singer/artist. I have been a huge Steven Curtis Chapman since first becoming a Christian 20 years ago. In my opinion, Mr. Chapman is the most genuine artist on the music scene. Not to say that he is more sincere about his faith in the Lord, but his sincerity is more clearly seen than any other artist that I have seen.
Mr. Chapman truly understands what it means to suffer, and he knows that despite what many preachers say Christians are not immune from troubles in this world. In fact, as he said at his concert when we become Christians we are “painting a bullseye” on our back for Satan to aim at. Mr. Chapman and his wife, Mary Beth, have adopted three little girls from China; four years ago,Monday, May 21, one of his sons accidentally backed over and killed their second adopted child, Maria.Please pray for Steven Curtis, Mary Beth and the rest of the Chapman family on this terrible anniversary day. As I said, being a Christian does not shield us from the problems of this world; if anything it makes us more vulnerable. As Satan pulls out all the stops to attack us.
Probably my favorite verse in the Bible is a warning, and a promise from Jesus. In John 16:33 He says, “… These things I have told you, that in Me you may have peace. In this world you have troubles, but I have overcome the world.” Jesus said that problems were going to happen, but we will have the victory through Him!
When problems come against us, they should not drive us away from Him, but draw us closer because it is only through Him that we will find victory over those problems!!!!!!

Father God, I thank You for telling me to expect problems, and reminding me that through You I will find victory. In Jesus’ name, Amen
