Here! Just, leave me alone!
Judges 16:16, “It came about when she pressed him daily with her words and urged him, that his soul was annoyed to death.”
Day after day and night after night, Delilah came to Samson badgering him. Finally, he had all he could take. He gave in, and told her what he thought his secret was out of pure frustration.
Have you ever been there? I have! Someone keeps asking the same thing, or doing the same thing; and finally out of pure frustration you do something you shouldn’t do. Afterwards you may have one of those, “Oh, why did I do that minutes!”, but when you’re in the minute you just do it out of frustration.
God understands our frustration! That is not to say that you may not have to pay for your momentary lapse in judgement, but God knows what it means to be frustrated with people nagging you, and doing dumb things.
Remember, what Genesis 6:5-6 says, “Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually . The LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.” God was frustrated with the evil He saw in this world.(I can only imagine what He thinks now) But, the generation of Noah’s day had to pay for their disobedience.
Numbers 16:30-32 says, “But if the LORD brings about an entirely new thing and the ground opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that is theirs, and they descend alive into Sheol, then you will understand that these men have spurned the LORD.” As he finished speaking all these words, the ground that was under them split open ; and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men who belonged to Korah with their possessions.” God understands that people can frustrate you, and make you do things that are out of character. Let me say here that frustration is NOT a sin! It’s a natural human emotion that we all have, and God understands that.
I want to give one more example; from the life of Jesus. In Matthew 17 the Bible says, “16 I brought him to Your disciples, and they could not cure him.” 17 And Jesus answered and said, “You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.”18 And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured at once.” Jesus was frustrated because His disciples still did not “get it”, but His frustration led to His showing of the love of God rather than sin.
That is the example we should follow. I can tell you from experience that you are going to get frustrated, but when you are at your “wit’s end” you should look to God, say a quick prayer, and God will help you in your frustration so that you can glorify Him!

Father God, I thank You for being aware that frustration is part of my nature, and I ask that You help me not to use my frustration as an excuse to sin. In Jesus’ name, Amen
