The new man
I Samuel 10:6, “Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you mightily, and you shall prophesy with them and be changed into another man.”
The prophet Samuel had just anointed Saul as ruler over God’s inheritance, Israel. He told Saul, and all who were with him that he was the king that God had chosen. Even though God did not want an earthly king, He relented because of the cries of Israel; and chose Saul. Saul was a man who He knew the people would like as king because of his physical stature, but God was not impressed by his height, or his obvious physical strength. God chose Saul, and the prophet Samuel told Saul that he would prophesy for God, and be changed into a new man.
When we come to God in our humble state, and realize that He is the only way of salvation then we will all be changed. II Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature ; the old things passed away ; behold, new things have come.” No human being has ever understood what it means to be changed by God better than the Apostle Paul. Saul(the Apostle Paul) was formerly a persecutor of the Church, but when he met the Risen Lord he was transformed from persecutor to protector and builder. No one apart from Jesus Christ was a more outspoken advocate for the early church.
There are thousands of people whose lives have been changed, and who have become the new creations that God desires. Every person no matter how good they are can be/will be made better after an encounter with God.
I pray that all who read these words will come to understand that only God can make the new creation He desires!
