Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

Tremble

I Samuel 21:1, “Then David came to Nob to Ahimelech the priest ; and Ahimelech came trembling to meet David …”

While he was running from King Saul, David came into the house of God looking for provisions; and the Priest came out to meet him shaking in his boots. I believe he was trembling because he recognized that David was God’s anointed. David stood before him as God’s representative, and he was worried that the judgement of God was coming. He was in awe of David because he recognized a presence in David.

This is a characteristic that we all throughout the Bible. God’s representative’s bring fear and awe in people. When Moses came down from the mountain after meeting with God the Israelites put a veil on his face because the glory of God shone on him brightly.

When Jesus Christ spoke to the people about God. They were amazed by Him and His teachings. They “trembled” because they recognized that His words and teachings came from above. The power that had been given Him was evident to everyone.

When the Apostles’ Peter and John were arrested for teaching about Jesus the Jewish council was amazed because they recognized a difference in these men that they could not have on their own.

The Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 3:10, “so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places. 11 This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.”

We have been commissioned by God to make His mystery’s known to all people that they might come to God through Jesus Christ! We are reminded II Timothy 1:7 that we were not given a “spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.” Therefore, we should not cower before anyone, but have the confidence in God that other people, whoever they are, notice and stand amazed by!
