Purpose & Commitment
PURPOSE STATEMENT
Yes, You Can Ministry holds to the Biblical concept of H.E.L.P.
H-Help the sick (Matthew 9:28-29, John 3:16)
Physically sick people sometimes feel as if they are all alone in this world, like nobody cares. Yes, You Can is devoted to showing these forgotten individuals that they are not forgotten, and that they are loved first by God, and second by Christians.
Spiritually sick individuals are first on God’s “to-do” list, and it is the responsibility and the duty of all Christians to show them the love of Christ so that they may be healed.
E-Evangelize the lost (Matthew chs. 5-7)
Jesus Christ gave the example that should be followed. He never lost the opportunity to share with others the love of God and the freedom that can be found through that love.
L-Love the sinner (Romans 5:8)
Loving people regardless of whether or not they have found their way with Jesus Christ is a primary focus of Yes, You Can; and I believe that loving people through Christ who have not come to Him is the second central focus of Christianity.(The first is loving God!) There are many passages of Scripture where we are commanded to love “our enemies”, those who disagree with us. By showing them this love, their lives will be changed.
P-Push the saints (Acts 1:8)
This world is in dire need to feel and know the love of Christ, yet we, as Christians, do not seem to notice or care that people around us are dying and going to hell. We have the ANSWER that they need for their problems, but we sit by and do nothing, expecting them to come to us for help. We have taken a reactive approach to spreading the Gospel, even though Christ has called us to a proactive lifestyle in all of the above-mentioned areas.

COMMITTMENT STATEMENT
God wants all of our commitment; our entire being and life. There is an old spiritual song that reflects this “99 ½ won’t do”. God does not want some, or most of our devotion. He wants everything that we have. We are married to God; the Bible says the church is “the Bride of Christ”. As in any marriage, both partners must be totally committed to one another.
God has already committed Himself to us by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in that yet we were still sinners Christ died for us.” God did not wait for us to show our devotion to Him. He made the first move and now awaits our response.
Yes, You Can Ministry is committed to showing our love for God and helping others find ways to express their love and devotion. God has given us examples, a step by step outline (if you will), of how we can do this.
1. “Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said, I am God Almighty; walk before Me and be blameless, and I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly.” Genesis 17:1-2
2. “You shall therefore impress these words of mine on your heart… And you shall teach them to your sons(children)….For if you are careful to keep all this commandment that I am commanding you, to do it, to love the Lord your God; to walk in all of His ways and hold fast to Him;…there shall no man be able to stand before you…See I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse; the blessing, if you listen to the commandments of the Lord your God, which I am commanding you today; and the curse if you do not listen to the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn away from the way that I am commanding you today by following other gods which you have not known.”Deuteronomy 11:18-283. “He who loves father or mother more than Me (Jesus) is not worthy of Me; and he who loves daughter or son more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross, and follow Me is not worthy of Me.”Matthew 10:37-38
4. “So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these? He said to Him, “Yes Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my lambs.” He said to him again a second time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me? He said to Him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love You.” He said to Him, Shepherd, my sheep. He said to him the third time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me? Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, you know all things You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Tend My sheep.””John 21:15-17

Listen to (Obey) God
Love God
Serve God(By serving others)
At Yes, You Can Ministry’s heart is a desire to show people the truth. Christianity is not always the easy way, nor is it simply going to church once in a while. Christianity is about knowing God personally and intimately. It is about diving into His Word feet-first and getting swallowed by His depths; so that we need to write His Words on our heart and keep them on our minds.
But, Christianity is also more than what we know. It’s about who we know and how intimately involved with following Him we are. Many people say that getting saved costs us nothing, and they are absolutely correct. The price of redemption was paid for by Jesus, and we must simply call on His name to receive forgiveness and be redeemed. However, being a Christian costs us everything, including our lives The Apostle Paul writes in Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God; who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me.”
One of the main goals (the mission) of Yes, You Can Ministry is to push Christians to live a life that is totally committed to Jesus because it is only when we “taste and see” (Psalm34:8) that we can discover the abundant life that Jesus promised.
