Come to God
“They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable, and disobedient, and worthless for any good deed.”Titus 1:16
No verse in the Bible reminds me of the United States and the world today more than this. Never have we have there been more religions in the world than today. There are hundreds of man-made religions in the U.S. alone, and they all have one thing in common they claim to point a way to God.
Never in the history of man have we been more spiritual, and acknowledged our need for a greater power; but never in world history has man been more arrogant in claiming that he will find God his way and through his strength. This reminds me of the tower of Babel found in Genesis chapters 10-11 where man proposed building a tower to reach into the heavens, and therefore ”make a name for themselves.” Through man’s own power he was trying to make it to the heavens, and commune with God because man knows that he is missing a part. A part that was lost when Adam and Eve got expelled from the garden by God. Dietrich Bonheoffer said this clearly when he wrote that people have a God-shaped vacuum in our hearts. Innately human beings know that we are not complete in ourselves, and we are continuously searching for that which will “complete” us. When one thing fails we move to another; which is, I believe, why the divorce rate, alcoholism and drug addiction is at an all time high we are searching for that one thing that will complete us.
All the while God is there patiently waiting for us because He knows that we will never be complete without Him. Listen to His words in Colossians 2:10, “…in Him you have been made complete…” Speaking of how we must come to Christ in order to find wholeness. We can go from marriage to marriage, high to high, etc. but we will never be complete until we come to God through Christ.
I think of the story of the nation of Israel, and how they were one as long as they followed God wholeheartedly. But almost from their inception Israel was inclined, as we all are, to believe anything. Some people call that being naïve, or gullible; that’s the story of the human race we are apt to believe anything. Getting back to Israel’s story; they followed after false god’s, and believed almost anything they heard then finally God said I’ve had enough I will let you follow your will and do your thing and see how long you last; but I will call you back in the last times because you are the apple of my eye. So to make a long story short the nation of Israel was one until after the death of Solomon, and then because of their sins against God He allowed them to be divided into the kingdoms of Israel and Judah. (They stayed divided until 1948 when God reunited them; which is the main reason why I believe we are in the end times. {See Ezekiel 36:22-38}) God spoke about bringing His chosen people back together in the end times, and now they are waiting to be made complete for their bridegroom.
Just like the nation of Israel and His church; you cannot be made complete until you are brought to God, and filled with the fullness of His Son.
John 1:16, “For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.”

well put! bravo; and only by grace i have been saved
Amen!!!!!!!! God even provides the faith we need to get His grace; that is awesome. We couldn’t get that grace that He has unless He gave us the faith to believe. That is a truly humbling thought.
