Yes, You Can Ministry

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13

Too much…

Genesis 26:16, “Then Abimelech said to Isaac, “Go away from us, for you are too powerful for us.”

After the death of Abraham, Isaac his son moved his family to Gerar. He was there blessed by God, and soon he grew to be very powerful . The Philistines among whom he lived among became weary(scared) of Isaac and his people because the hand of God was clearly on them. King Abimelech came to Isaac, and asked him to take his people and posessions; and go away from his land.

This is a recurring theme throughout the Old Testament. The people of God follow his lead, and are blessed; other people then notice that they have been given everything by God so they become scared. It happens time and time again.

What has happened that has caused people to stop fearing Godly representatives. We know for a fact that God has not changed. His Word says in Hebrews 13: 8, ” Jesus Christ(God in the flesh) is the same yesterday and today and forever.” The power that caused these men and women to be fearful is the same that is available to us , as Believers. At His ascension Jesus Christ said ,”you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you,…” Acts 1:8

As Christians you and I have the power of God; we have the treasures that He promised. We have eternal life. Not some time far off in the future, but today, in the here and now we have the full measure of God at our disposal, so why do people not see that power in us, and fear the power we have like they feared the Old Testament saints? Could the problem be that we do not want to be labeled “fanatics”, are we scared that if people see us praying, reading the Bible, etc. they are going to call us “bad names”. If people notice a difference in your life that comes from a relationship with God then what, I ask, can they do to harm you. We have the power of God. The power that raises people from the dead, so we should never be afraid of others.

On the other hand they should fear us; not us personally, but what we represent. The power of God is an awesome thing to have, and it cannot be hidden in your life. As this day goes I ask that you recognize the power that you have from God, and not cower away from others; but boldly stand for His Name!
